  • Scholarships
  • Financial assistance based on merit; do not require repayment

  • Semester
  • A semester is worth 30 credits and typically consists of six modules. A taught programme will be based on two semesters per academic year.

     

    The semester normally comprises a minimum of 17 weeks of academic activity, consisting of 13 weeks of teaching, learning, coursework and review, 2 weeks of student revision and assessment and 2 weeks of examination processing.

  • SSO
  • Single Sign-On which allows you to use your student number and password to log onto multiple services provided by CIT

  • Syllabus
  • A document that lists a module’s objectives and requirements. Each instructor distributes a syllabus at the beginning of the semester. It includes an outline of the module, including description, topics covered and required assignments.

  • State Aid
  • Financial assistance/aid programs funded and administered by the state

  • Support Services
  • Office offering counseling services to students

  • Seminar
  • Academic courses characterized by intensive study, small groups and regular discussion

  • Student
  • Learner enrolled in a formal educational programme

  • Semesterisation
  • A taught programme will be based on two semesters per academic year.

  • Stage
  • A student will progress through a programme in stages, where the completion of a stage normally requires the successful accumulation of 60 ECTS credits. The student may then progress to the next stage of the programme according to the regulations outlined in Section 3. A 60-credit stage will normally be completed in one academic year by a full-time student, but this may not be true of part-time, access and other non-standard students. Programme specifications will define the credit requirements of each stage of the programme, and will specify the range of modules which must or may be taken in order to satisfy those credit requirements
