I don’t think I want a job related to my degree, are there other options?
Your degree subject does not define your career direction. More and more graduates are
changing direction from the degree they studied.
Having a degree equips you with many skills which you can put to good use across many
different areas of the labour market.

- Volunteer/Work Shadow/Get paid employment. Apply for to do an internship or placement (Paid or unpaid). - This gets your foot in the door, Helps you gain insight and a feel for the type of work. Gets you closer to getting a job.
- Do a Conversion course. You have many options to add knowledge and skills to enable you to branch off in a new direction.
Most conversion courses are postgraduate Diplomas and Masters Degrees.
To be eligible you usually need to have a level 8 honours degree (or equivalent).
Many courses will look at each application on an individual basis and may accept graduates
of a level 7 degree if they have accumulated relevant experience through work and additional extracurricular achievements and activities.
Postgraduate Conversion courses are intensive “change of direction” programmes that generally last one year (some courses with professional qualifications last two years).
Most courses are open to graduates from any degree discipline, some courses require that you have some relevant experience or a degree that has some relevance.
