Introduction

Welcome to this guide on:

This Guide aims to show you how to acquire and utilise some of the best available academic resources for you in your research in CIT. At the end of this Guide you will know about the resources that have been provided for you within the CIT Library (both online and in print) and also what is available elsewhere – especially on the internet.

You will also be able to decide what material is best for you and your needs and how it can be acquired. You will be able to show, in your report or thesis, how you used these resources by the proper referencing of what you acquired and utilised. You will be able to use the Referencing Software System ZOTERO to help you with this work. And you will know about the use of eBooks in academic research and how CIT Libraries' eBooks can work for you

While there is a lot of information in this Guide and we recommend you use it, the staff in CIT Libraries is also available to answer your research or teaching related queries.

We have 4 libraries in CIT:

Bishopstown Campus
Crawford College of Art and Design
Cork School of Music
National Maritime College of Ireland

We have extensive opening hours in our libraries and are happy to help you with any queries you might have. Check on our website to see our contact details. We also provide tailored and detailed tutorials to classes that need further assistance in using our online databases, for referencing etc. To contact us about these click here.
