Search Engines (2)

A Search engine is a specific software application that allows you to search the internet or world wide web.

Different search engines have different user interfaces and may look different also.

Again we don't intend to recommend any particular search engine over another but the most commonly used one up to March 20101 was Google (70%) with Yahoo (15%) and Bing (9.6%).

For the purpose of this guide we will use Google as it has academic related features and good compatibility with ZOTERO.

Some internet guides2 recommend that you search both Google and Yahoo, but this might take too much time for every search.
