Annmarie MacFeely
Careers Officer 
Hi, I’m Annmarie and I’m the Careers Officer within the MTU Careers Team
across the Cork campuses.
I joined MTU having worked as a management development consultant to Industry with over 20 years’ experience working in Banking, Communications, Pharmaceuticals, Insurance and Energy sectors. I have a passion for working with groups in the area of people and talent development.
My job is very varied and busy with project work, event organisation, team co-ordination and purchasing. The part of my job that gives me the greatest satisfaction however is helping students to prepare for their future careers, whether that is 1:1 or in a group.
I have a B. Comm, ACIB diploma with licences in MBTI, FIRO-B, DISC, Learning Styles, Belbin, Psychometrics and EQ-I.

Brian Kelleher
Careers Service Administrator
Hi, I’m Brian and I’m the Careers Service Administrator within the MTU Careers Team across the Cork campuses.
I am your initial point of contact within the Careers Service, and I am here to help answer your questions and connect you with the Careers Advisor team.
Generally speaking, I provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support to the Careers team and manage the daily office activities.
Additionally, I engage with new and current employers, helping them to register on our CAREERSconnect platform and guiding them through how to upload jobs and opportunities to make them available for you.

Maria Nugent

Hi, I’m Maria (she/her). I have been working in MTU as a Careers Advisor for almost 7 years and have over 13 years’ experience working in Careers/Guidance Counselling roles in 3rd level.
I love working with students, helping you to figure out what it is you want to do, signposting you towards this and supporting you to achieve your goals. Even if you don’t know what’s next for you, that’s absolutely okay, it’s what we’re here for.
Over the past 25 years I have also worked in Youthreach, residential, community, school and youth group settings. Having gone back to college myself as a Mature student I know how overwhelming it can all seem sometimes.
Within my role, I am the lead for employer engagement and organise the numerous employer events you see both virtually and on campus. I can often be found promoting our employers’ events, jobs, and all things graduate recruitment! I also have responsibility for the Joint Mentorship Programme in partnership with the Alumni Office, amongst numerous other projects.
I work with all students from all disciplines providing 1-1 careers advice and I take an extra responsibility for the following schools/departments, NMCI, Recreation & Leisure, Social Care, Community Development and Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
I also have a huge interest in Equality Diversity and Inclusion and I’m involved in several MTU groups and committees.
I hold numerous qualifications including a Postgraduate qualification in Guidance Counselling & Life Span Development from UL and an Undergraduate Social Science Degree.

Mary-Rose O'Sullivan
Careers Advisor
Hi, I’m Mary-Rose and I’ve worked with students like you in MTU, across the Cork campuses, since 2017. I enjoy meeting and supporting students during their time in college and work to encourage you to adapt, grow and embrace the exciting possibilities that your future work-life can offer.
I work with undergraduate and post-grad students providing 1-1 careers advice. I also design accredited and award-winning careers education modules and skills-building workshops that are delivered across all degree programmes. I enjoy collaborating with academic colleagues across MTU in developing effective career events. I enjoy learning about new approaches that are emerging to support students of all ages to adapt and be prepared so they can thrive in today’s rapidly evolving workplace.
Among my responsibilities are career development of researchers across MTU, as well as supporting emerging artists and designers who are students in Cork College of Art and Design and on the Bishopstown campus.
My career background spans publishing, journalism, PR and education including working freelance and running my own business. I have an MA in Applied Psychology as well as qualifications in journalism, digital marketing, public relations, and a degree in early years education. I’m currently pursuing the EMCC Coaching Practitioner Diploma – I guess I love learning and moving forward in my career!

Caitríona Horgan
Careers Advisor
Hi, my name is Caitríona and I’m a Careers Advisor within the MTU Careers Team across the Cork campuses with a background of over 12 years in Careers Advice roles, as well as previous experience in community development, adult education and second level teaching.
I enjoy helping students from all disciplines and stages of study to discover your potential, to invest in your skills development and to figure out your most fulfilling career pathway. My aim is that the students I work with become confident graduates, who can make informed career decisions, can secure employment in their chosen sector, and can make transitions throughout their career.
Within my role I work 1-1 with students as well as in classes and workshops, from first year through to pre-placement and on to graduate and post-graduate students. I also lead a specific career development programme for mature students called Building Forward and contribute to the creation of high-quality careers resources for MTU students.
I currently provide specific supports to the Schools of Building and Civil Engineering and Business, in addition to the Department of Tourism and Hospitality.
I hold a BA HDip.Ed. and Post-graduate qualifications in ‘Further Education and Training Management’ and ‘Career Needs Assessment, Planning & Support for Work’.

Olga Mitchell

Hi! I’m Olga and I’m a Careers Advisor with the Careers Service. I can support you with all aspects of your career development including CV, interview preparation, career mapping and planning, personal statements, post graduate course choice and micro-credential options to boost your skills.
I believe in empowering you to set objectives to achieve your dreams. I will work with you to cultivate your self-awareness and to understand and appreciate the unique skills and strengths you have to offer. I aim to support you to make sounder decisions, build stronger connections and communicate more effectively in your professional and academic career. As part of the Careers team, I design, deliver, and facilitate workshops and talks to meet career development needs.
I hold an MA in Applied Psychology (Guidance Counselling) UCC and a Professional Diploma in Counselling Psychotherapy (IICP, IACP pre-accredited). I have previous experience in supporting people with disabilities, neurodiverse conditions, early recovery, and homelessness to find their career path. I spent 12 years working in industry, in laboratory, technical and engineering roles and completed qualifications such as a BSc (Hons) in Advanced Manufacturing Technology (Cork IT), and Level 7 qualifications in Industrial Engineering, Quality Systems Management, Applied Biology.
