Student Leaders

Each year MTU recruits approximately 60 Student Leaders to assist in the running of the Registration & Orientation Programme, MTU Open Day, the Careers Fair, Conferrings, PostGrad Fair and other departmental events throughout the year. At Registration and Orientation Student Leaders promote positive adjustment and orientation for first-year students, help students identify their class group and make friends and let students know of the resources and services in MTU.

Student Leaders must have excellent communication skills.  Student Leaders must be punctual, professional, helpful and be able to work as part of a team. Student Leaders will be required to give first year students accurate and relevant information on MTU and its support services. Good Start Ambassadors

Good Start Ambassadors are involved in all aspects of the Good Start welcome programme in MTU acting as positive influencers who help new students settle into CIT. Good Start is run with students for students and aims to help first years find their way and feel like they belong in MTU.

Important for Good Start Ambassador Applicants: Interviews, which may be conducted online over Zoom/Skype, will take place during Week 12 of Semester 2 (week beginning 26th April). Once the Good Start programme of activities is completed in week 4, Good Start Ambassadors have the opportunity to interview to join the wider cohort of Student Leaders.

Applicants are invited from both undergradute and postgraduate level, however applicants must be registered as full-time MTU students during the academic year 2022/2023. Training will be provided for both roles.
