SOLAS EXAMINATIONS

The term 1, 2025/2026 examinations will be held from Monday, November 24th - Friday, December 5th (both days inclusive).

 

• The term 1 examination timetable will be avilable by November 7th.  
• The deadline for apprentinces to register for repeat exams during the term 1 examination session is Friday, October 24th. No registrations can be processed after this date.
• If you have any queries relating to the upcoming exam session, please email the Examinations Office on ApprenticesExamsCork@mtu.ie. 

 

FEES

The Fees per term are €1,003.50 which includes a USI / Students' Union membership levy of €3.50.

The cost to repeat a referred exam is €120.

Students will be advised of the payment due date at orientation and by e-mail to their MTU student email account.

 

To pay any outstanding fees, please log onto www.cit.ie/pay 

Payment for fees cannot be taken over the phone.

 

EXAM RESULTS

Exam Results are sent directly to SOLAS who then issue them to the apprentices.
Where an apprentice has outstanding fees on their account, exam results will be withheld until all fees have been paid in full.

SOLAS APPRENTICES DSS SUPPORT

SOLAS apprentices are welcome to apply for DSS supports / reasonable accommodations while studying at MTU Cork campus.

Please note that there are deadlines for applying for supports in each block for apprentices:

Phase 4 & 6 Apprentices	Dates for applying for exam supports*
Term 1     September - December	Friday 24th October 2025
Term 2      January - March	Friday 13th February 2026
Term 3      April - June	Friday 1st May 2026

 

 

 

 

 

*Dates are subject to change dependent on the start of each term which is confirmed by SOLAS.

 

New apprentices to MTU Cork campus must apply for supports from the DSS (see below).

Apprentices who are returning to MTU Cork campus to study or repeat exams and already applied for DSS supports from September 2018 onwards just need to email dssCork@mtu.ie by the dates above.
