  • Internship
  • A job in a student's field of study; may be required in some academic programs and may include salary and college credit

  • Independent Study
  • Research or course of study taken outside traditional classroom. Supervised and graded by faculty member and can be taken for credit

  • Informal learning
  • Learning resulting from daily life activities related to work, family or leisure. It is not structured (in terms of learning objectives, learning time or learning support) and typically does not lead to certification. Informal learning may be intentional but in most cases it is non-intentional (or “incidental”/random).

  • Intended Learning Outcomes
  • The intended learning outcomes represent the educational goals. They describe the learning outcomes that the teacher intends that learners will attain as a result of teaching and learning activities
