How do I make an appointment?
- This is a walk-in clinic. The location is: Meeting room 1, MTU, Cork.
Who is eligible?
- Anyone who has not had 2 MMR vaccines. If you were born in Ireland before 1978 you are likely to have had measles and would not require vaccination.
Is there a cost?
- No, the vaccine is free.
How many doses?
- 1 dose only.
What do you need to bring with you?
- Photo identification.
Important things to remember
- Wear something that will make it easy to get the vaccine in your upper arm.
- You do not need to fast (not eat) before getting an MMR vaccine.
Measles is a highly contagious disease. There is a surge in measles cases in Europe and the UK. There is a concern that measles will spread to other countries including Ireland.
MMR vaccine protects against measles, mumps and rubella viruses.
The HSE are coming to MTU to deliver a pop-up MMR vaccination clinic. If you have not had 2 doses of MMR vaccine you can get a dose at the pop-up vaccination clinic which will help protect yourself and others.
