Student Password Reset

  • Below are detailed instructions for Students on how to reset their password for all CIT services

  • Students will require their Student ID, Date of Birth, and access to the mobile phone number listed on their student records

Step By Step Instructions


1. If a user forgets his/her Student Password, click on the Reset STUDENT password button on the user login screen on Web4Student www.mycit.ie/web4

 

 

2. The following screen will then be displayed:

 

 

3. Once the student fills in the relevant information and selects Send New Password, the following screen appears:

 

 

4. The student is then automatically redirected to the login screen on Web4Student www.mycit.ie/web4 where they must enter in the temporary password that was texted to them.

(Note this password is case sensitive so ensure that you use CAPITAL letters when entering the temporary password)

 

 

5. On the next screen the student must re-enter the same temporary password again. You must also enter the new password twice.

Note:  Your new password must be a minimum of 8 characters in length, and MUST include both numbers and letters.

 

 

6. The user then selects Login and is successfully logged into Web4Student as per screenshot below.

The user must allow up to 15 minutes for the new password to become active in all systems.

 

Incorrect Mobile Number

If the mobile number entered does not match the mobile number on your student record, the following screen is displayed and the student must call to the Service desk with your ID Card or email the servicedesk@cit.ie to get their password reset.

The student should then call to the Admissions Office (or email Admissions@cit.ie  from their myCIT email address) to get this personal information changed, thus ensuring that they can use Password Self Service going forwards.

Students will not be able to use Password Self Service until this information has been changed.

 

Incorrect Date of Birth

If the date of birth entered does not match the DOB on your student record, the following screen is displayed and the student must call to the Service desk with your ID Card or email the servicedesk@cit.ie to get their password reset.

The student should then call to the Admissions Office  (or email Admissions@cit.ie from their myCIT email address) to get this personal information changed, thus ensuring that they can use Password Self Service going forwards.

Students will not be able to use Password Self Service until this information has been changed.

 

Should you require further assistance, please go to the IT ServiceDesk in the Library Building, Bishopstown Campus. Student ID or photo ID will be required as proof of identity for changes to passwords.
