When making a request for a duplicate parchment, please note the following

Cork Institute of Technology is the awarding body and prints award parchments as follows:

• National Certificates/Higher Certificates (Level 6) from 2002 to date
• National Diplomas/Bachelor Degrees (Level 7) from 2002 to date
• Honours Bachelor Degrees (Level 8) from 2005 to date

The Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETAC), formerly known as the National Council for Educational Awards (NCEA), was the awarding body and printed award parchments.  Requests for duplicate NCEA or HETAC parchments for the years listed below should be made directly to QQI.  Please refer to the QQI website for details.

• National Certificates (Level 6) up to and including the year 2001
• National Diplomas (Level 7) up to and including the year 2001
• Honours Bachelor Degrees (Level 8) up to and including the year 2004

Note: Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) is a state agency established by the Quality Assurance and Qualifications (Education and Training) Act 2012. QQI’s functions include those previously carried out by the Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC); the Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETAC); the Irish Universities Quality Board (IUQB) and the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland (NQAI).

How to request a duplicate MTU award parchment

If your MTU award parchment has been irretrievably lost or damaged, a duplicate parchment may be requested. The University does not keep copies of award parchments. Please note that there is a €65 charge for each duplicate parchment.  Requests for duplicate parchments may take up to 4 weeks to process.

To request a duplicate parchment awarded by MTU, please complete the request form and statutory declaration and return both with the appropriate fee (€65 per parchment) to:  Examinations Office, Munster Technological University, Bishopstown, Cork or email your documentation to awardsCork@mtu.ie

Queries regarding duplicate Masters (Level 9) and PhD (Level 10) parchments should be emailed to awardsCork@mtu.ie as the awarding body will depend on your area of study.
