Munster Technological University Cork Conferring Ceremonies

Conferring Ceremonies for the Class of 2021

The University has taken the decision to move the conferring ceremonies, from the usual October dates, to January 2022 in the hope that the public health situation will have improved enough, at that time, to facilitate on-site ceremonies.

While the University will be guided by public health advice at all times, it is expected that moving the conferring back to January 2022 will offer graduands, and the University, the best opportunity to host a ceremony. How that will look and who will be in attendance will be addressed nearer the time.  Further information will be available nearer to the conferring ceremonies and it is planned to have an update by November 22nd 2021.

The University, as of now, is planning to host On Campus Ceremonies, for the Class of 2021, from Thursday 6th to Friday 14th January 2022. Please note the following specific to the MTU Cork Campus:

Fees

Please note that all outstanding fees (and late penalties) must be paid in full to the Institute in order to be eligible to graduate.  While a fee remains unpaid it is not possible to have an award conferred by the University.  Queries regarding outstanding fees should be emailed to feesCork@mtu.ie stating your name and student number.  All outstanding fees must be paid in full by 1st December 2021.

Your Parchment

Please note we are unable to facilitate requests for parchments prior to ceremonies.  Please contact your department for a copy of your academic transcript.

 

Conferring Ceremony June 2021

This was the first Conferring Ceremony of the Munster Technological University and was led by the President, Professor Maggie Cusack.  Due to current Covid-19 guidelines and restrictions the annual June Conferring Ceremony took place virtually on 30th June 2021The ceremony can be accessed at www.youtube.com/cit

Please note this ceremony was for eligible NMCI students, Postgraduate students awarded in January 2021 and Postgraduate (Research) students only.

Your Parchment

Please note that the University, in line with the Technological Universities Act 2018 are currently designing a new Parchment. These will be ready over the Summer and we anticipate they will be posted to graduates of the June 2021 ceremony, in late August 2021.  Your parchment will be sent to the address the Awards Office currently has on file. If your address has changed, and you wish to update same so that your parchment can be delivered to the correct address, it is imperative you contact admissionsCork@mtu.ie to change your address. You will need to include your Student Number in this communication and please put Change of Address Request, in the subject line. The closing date to make this change is 17.00 on Friday 2nd July 2021.
